Simulation, game theory and contracts on infrastructure projects

As the result of my master’s thesis, my advisor and I wrote the article “A dynamic principal-agent framework for modeling the performance of infrastructure” (link to pdf file, link to file on elsevier page) which was published in the European Journal of Operational Research.

This work combined various disciplines such as:

  • Strategies for infrastructure maintenance
  • Contract design & Game theory
  • Simulation (discrete, agent-based and continuous)
  • Optimization

We built an object oriented, agent-based model in MATLAB where both the calculations and visualization of model’s output were performed (github page).
